John Richmond "Jack" Scobie (22 September 1891 – 26 April 1974) was an Australian rules footballer who played with South Melbourne and Carlton in the Victorian Football League (VFL). He also played for East Fremantle in the West Australian Football League (WAFL). Scobie was South Melbourne's full-back in their 1909 premiership team, the club's first at VFL level.〔(AFL Tables: Jack Scobie )〕 He was the youngest member of the grand final winning side, having turned 18 only ten days prior.〔 It was also his first league season, joining South Melbourne from junior club Rose of Northcote earlier in the year. While at South Melbourne he was regarded as one of the top defenders in the league.
